Government to Settle Two-Year Salary Arrears for 321 Pharmacists – Ato Forson

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has assured that the government will take immediate steps to clear the salary arrears of 321 pharmacists who have gone unpaid since their employment in June 2023.

Speaking in Parliament on March 11, 2025, during the presentation of the 2025 Budget, Dr. Forson acknowledged the financial struggles of the affected health workers and pledged swift intervention.

He revealed that the issue was first brought to his attention during a pre-budget consultation with the youth on social media, where he learned about the plight of these pharmacists.

Dr. Forson emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing salary delays within the health sector, recognizing the importance of timely payments to boost morale and efficiency.
