The government of Ghana is set to inaugurate more than 80 educational projects across all 16 regions today, November 21, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance access to quality education by providing modern infrastructure to meet the diverse needs of students nationwide.
President Nana Akufo-Addo will spearhead the event, which will involve simultaneous commissioning ceremonies at district and regional levels. Joining him are Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. The ceremonies will be broadcast live on major television networks and social media platforms to ensure broad participation.
The projects, spanning basic schools to senior high schools and technical institutions, emphasize STEM education and early childhood learning. Notable facilities include:

Other key additions include basic education infrastructure such as a 12-unit classroom block at Salem D/A Basic in Atwima Mponua and two-unit kindergarten blocks in communities like Fremasi DA Primary in Assin South.
The Ashanti Region boasts significant developments, including the Bosomtwe Model STEM JHS with a four-story, 11-unit classroom block, and a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Wesley Girls Demonstration School in Kumasi.

The initiative also prioritizes Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with facilities like the Anyinam TVET-Applied Technical and Fashion School and the Akomadan TVET-Applied Technical School, designed to equip students with practical job market skills.
“This reflects the government’s commitment to creating conducive learning environments for every Ghanaian child,” the Ministry of Education stated.
