Gospel Singer Sinach Recognised By US Congress

Nigerian gospel music singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, popularly known as Sinach, has received a letter of recognition from the US congress applauding her for her contribution in spreading the gospel across the world.

Taking to social media to share the news, the I know who I am hitmaker revealed that the recognition letter was penned by Sheila Jackson Lee, a US senator representing the Texas Constituency. The senator insisted that her tireless efforts were completely deserving of the respect, administration, and commendation of the US Congress.

“They have the freedom, through song, to discover their destiny and maximise their hidden potential through communion with the one true God. Indeed, your tireless efforts are completely deserving of the respect, administration, and commendation of the US Congress,” Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee wrote in part.

According to the congresswoman, music brings people together and allows them to share similar emotions no matter the language.

“Music is one of the most important and powerful things in life. It brings people together and allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit,” she said.

She added, “No matter what language we speak, what colour we are, the form of our politics, or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves; we are all human beings. Thank you for spreading this universal language throughout the world.”

According to reports, Sinach also got recognition for hosting a successful concert in Houston, Texas, on October 2. It is reported that the said concert, which featured popular gospel singers like Todd Dulaney, Micah Stampley, Dee Jones, and Da’dra Greathouse, was tagged ‘Sinach: Night of Worship Houston Texas.’

Before the concert, Sinach had organised a five-day thanksgiving concert in Nigeria where she gathered over 20 gospel singers.

Talking about the concert, which her husband, Joseph Egbu, was at the forefront of organising, Sinach urged Christians to re-think their ways and turn back to God.

“There is too much evil going on in the world today. People are in fear, despair, and are hurting, but when God’s people lift up their voices in praise to Him, things change. God’s high and holy praises fill our mouths, for our shouted praises are our weapons of war against fear, depression, anxiety and discouragement,” she posted on social media.
