President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s capability to ascend as a global leader in exporting agricultural goods. He emphasized the country’s substantial progress in recent years despite prevailing economic challenges, foreseeing a significant transformation in economic growth.
During the inauguration of new Gentry Cranes and Works at the Tema Harbour, the president highlighted agriculture as a primary sector targeted by the government to fortify and rejuvenate the Ghanaian economy.
Akufo-Addo remarked, “Amidst global disruptions in food supply chains, Ghana’s resilience is evident due to the implemented measures. I firmly believe our nation possesses the potential to stand as a leading global exporter of agricultural produce, leveraging favorable weather conditions, abundant water resources, and fertile lands.”
Addressing historical deficiencies, he emphasized the crucial need for a modernized and robust logistics infrastructure to actualize this potential, citing it as a longstanding gap hindering progress in the agricultural sector.
Furthermore, President Akufo-Addo highlighted indicators such as a decline in inflation rates and the stabilization of the Cedi currency as evidence of the government’s concerted efforts towards revitalizing the economy.
