Popular Ghanaian comedian and actor, Funny Face, has delivered an important message, encouraging people to open up and seek support when faced with tough times. In an exclusive interview with TV3’s Giovani Caleb on Showbiz 360, Funny Face shared his personal experiences and emphasized the detrimental effects of bottling up emotions.
Drawing from his own struggles and public challenges, Funny Face highlighted the importance of reaching out for help instead of keeping emotions suppressed. He stressed that bottling up one’s feelings during difficult moments can have severe consequences, even leading to tragic outcomes. Instead, he urged individuals to lean on their support networks, whether it be friends, family, or professionals, when facing life’s challenges.
Funny Face’s candid discussion shed light on the significance of mental health and self-care. Through his own journey, he has become an advocate for open conversations surrounding mental health, effectively reducing the stigma associated with such concerns in Ghana.
In the interview, Funny Face expressed, “Do you know what people are going through and they cannot voice out? That is what is killing people. When you go through anything, talk to somebody. When you are going through things you don’t understand, talk to somebody. It happened to me, and I did not open up to anyone. I kept bottling everything up until things became worse some three years ago. Assuming I opened up to someone, I would have been helped.”
By sharing his personal story and encouraging open dialogue, Funny Face aims to raise awareness about the importance of seeking support during challenging times. His message serves as a reminder that reaching out to others can make a significant difference in one’s well-being and overall mental health.
