Former Ghanaian Footballer Charles Taylor Questions Coach Chris Hughton’s Ability to Lead Black Stars

Former Ghanaian national team player Charles Taylor has voiced strong criticism of coach Chris Hughton in the wake of Ghana’s lackluster showing in their recent friendly match against Mexico.

In a match held in North Carolina, Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat, marking Chris Hughton’s first loss as the Black Stars’ head coach. Taylor has not held back his doubts about Hughton’s capacity to guide the national team to success.

In a frank statement to Angel TV, Taylor did not mince his words, stating, “Chris Hughton is not a capable coach. He will not lead us to success.”

Ghana’s recent international friendly against Mexico saw goals from Hirving Lozano and Antuna Romero secure a victory for the Mexican side.

Despite the disappointing outcome, the Black Stars are gearing up to face the United States of America in their upcoming international friendly, scheduled for October 17, 2023, at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee. This match offers the team an opportunity to regroup and strive for an improved performance, especially in light of Charles Taylor’s critical comments.
