The Federation of Business Associations of Ghana (FABAG) has declared its readiness to endorse any presidential candidate committed to implementing tax rebates, stating that the private sector has been heavily burdened by escalating tax levels.
In a statement issued by FABAG Chairman John Awuni, it was emphasized that the private sector has been grappling with a plethora of taxes, with the overall tax burden continually on the rise. Awuni highlighted the association’s willingness to engage with flag bearers of all political parties to understand their stances on taxes and policies aimed at bolstering business operations and supporting FABAG members.
Awuni further noted that due to the imposition of numerous import levies, companies are increasingly exploring opportunities to export through other West African nations. Consequently, FABAG is urging its members to cast their votes in the upcoming elections based on the tax and policy proposals put forth by each presidential candidate.
