The Spare Parts Dealers Association of Abbosey Okai has thrown its weight behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposition to implement a flexible flat-rate taxation system if he assumes the presidency.
In a statement issued by the association, it voiced its endorsement of the proposal, emphasizing its potential to benefit spare parts dealers across the country and encouraging its members to back the initiative.
According to the association, the proposed flat-rate tax scheme promises to significantly alleviate the financial burden on spare parts, offering relief to commercial drivers who regularly factor these costs into their transportation fares.
Vice President Bawumia unveiled plans for this policy during his presentation of his presidential vision on Wednesday, February 7, in Accra.
The association expressed gratitude for Dr. Bawumia’s forward-thinking proposal, highlighting its importance in protecting the interests of spare parts dealerships nationwide.
