Former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, has been rearrested despite completing a seven-day remand period ordered by the court.
Adu-Boahene, who is facing multiple charges including stealing, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state, was initially remanded on May 2 over allegations of witness tampering.
On May 13, his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, informed the court that his client had been taken into custody again on a different issue. Details of the new case were not disclosed, but the Attorney General had previously linked Adu-Boahene to an investigation involving internet connectivity irregularities at Ghana Water Limited.
In the ongoing case involving the alleged diversion of GH¢49.1 million, the judge adjourned the matter to May 26 for a case management conference. The state is expected to submit all witness statements to the defense by May 20.
