Electoral Commission to Reprint Ballot Papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions Over Serial Number Errors

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the reprinting of all ballot papers allocated to the Volta and Ahafo Regions due to issues with their serial numbers.

This decision was made during an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on November 15, 2024. The affected ballot papers include those for both presidential and parliamentary elections in the two regions.

Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations at the Electoral Commission, explained that the serialisation errors compromised the integrity of the ballot papers.

“Over the last few weeks, some concerns have been raised regarding the serialisation of the ballot papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions,” he stated during the meeting.

While the general printing process had progressed smoothly, the EC acknowledged challenges with the numbering on the ballot papers. Mr. Tettey assured stakeholders that corrective measures were being implemented.

To address the issue, the Commission has decided to reprint the ballot papers with the assistance of Bulk and Acts Commercials, ensuring accuracy for the upcoming elections.

The EC has also deployed teams to the printing facilities to oversee the reprinting process and ensure there are no further anomalies.
