President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians that the recent challenges with erratic power supply, known locally as “dumsor,” have been successfully resolved.
Speaking at the annual May Day celebration in Accra, President Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their patience and understanding during the difficult period.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians for their patience and understanding during recent temporary challenges with electricity supply across the country,” the President said.
He attributed the recent improvements in power supply reliability to the successful resolution of issues surrounding transformers and gas supply. President Akufo-Addo highlighted that stable electricity supply has been witnessed across the country in recent days, with no reports of load-shedding.
“For the past seven years, we have worked tirelessly to keep the lights on, and I am confident that the unfortunate era of dumsor will not return,” he added.
The President’s announcement will come as a relief to many Ghanaians who have been affected by the intermittent power outages in recent times.
