Who is Captain Smart? His full name is Blessed Godsbrain Smart. The firm and outspoken media personality is a Christian and a member of the church of Pentecost. He gained fame from Adom FM/TV’s Dwaso Nsem segment.

Captain Smart had a sister who passed away four weeks after his father’s death. His sister worked at Onua TV.

Educational background Godsbrain got his secondary education at Apam SHS, located in the Central Region, after completing his primary JHS education in his hometown’s government schools. He then earned a diploma in mass communication and a degree at Garden City University.

Career history

His career began at Fox FM in Kumasi, then OTEC FM, Kesewa Radio, and Nhyira FM of the Multimedia Network. He resigned from the Multimedia Network in May 2020 and moved to the Three Angels Broadcasting Network (ABN), owned by business mogul Kwesi Oteng.

ABN’s CEO, Samuel Kofi Acheampong, suspended the radio host on his birthday, 5 May 2021, because his work put the company’s founder, Dr Kwesi Oteng, under excess external pressure from the government and the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Godsbrain also worked at Adom FM. He created Adom FM’s Fabewoso show and made it one of his trademarks. However, when Chief Jerry Forson (his successor) claimed to be the show’s originator, Captain candidly stopped him from copying and stealing the credit.

Afterwards, Captain Smart became a part of Onua TV, which is owned by Media General. The show Onua TV Live Today with Captain Smart has gained a significant following due to the way in which the TV personality fearlessly expressed his opinions about political leaders.

His willingness to speak openly and candidly about sensitive topics resonated with many viewers, contributing to the show’s increasing popularity. He was once arrested for publicly criticizing certain leaders who remained silent regarding the difficulties that Ghanaians were experiencing due to the policies of the government.

Is Captain Smart a soldier? No. The military uniform he wore on air to celebrate soldiers was part of the reason he was arrested. It was alleged that the media personality incited the Ghana Armed Forces against Members of Parliament.
