Battery Stolen from DRIP Tipper Truck in Konongo

A battery has been stolen from a tipper truck that is part of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) in Konongo, located within the Asante Akim Central Municipality. The theft was discovered on Thursday during a routine check by municipal officials.

The truck, along with other DRIP equipment, was parked at the premises of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly as officials awaited the completion of training for the machine operators. The missing battery was promptly reported to the police, who have since launched an investigation into the incident.

Municipal Chief Executive Robert Yaw Kwaakye has condemned the theft, highlighting that such actions could severely hinder the government’s development efforts. He assured the public that the Assembly would intensify surveillance measures to safeguard the equipment.

As investigations continue, the authorities are urging the community to cooperate in identifying those responsible for the theft.
