 Asamoah Gyan Shows Up to Support Afua Asantewaa’s Sing-a-thon Attempt

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan joined the list of high-profile personalities showing support for Afua Asantewaa’s quest to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous singing hours.

On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, Gyan visited the Akwaaba Village, where Afua was tirelessly aiming to surpass the current world record. His presence aimed to uplift and encourage Afua throughout her pursuit.

Upon Gyan’s arrival, enthusiastic fans swarmed around him, seeking photo opportunities and moments with the ex-Sunderland and Al Ain forward.

Moving to the stage, Gyan marveled at Afua’s dedication, waving in admiration and even singing along with her performances.

Afua’s endeavor has rallied massive support from Ghana nationwide, with the country uniting behind her goal.

By the early hours of Wednesday, Afua had crossed the 72-hour mark, marking three continuous days of singing in her determined bid to secure the record. The current record, held by Indian Sunil Waghmare, stands at 105 hours achieved in 2012.

Adding to the show of support, numerous Ghanaian celebrities made appearances at the Akwaaba Village to bolster the journalist and former beauty queen’s efforts.

Over the last three days, a stream of actors and musicians, including Becca, Cina Soul, Sista Afia, Kwabena Kwabena, Eno Barony, Kobi Rana, Sarkodie, and Nana Ama McBrown, have personally shown their support to Afua, reflecting the widespread backing for her groundbreaking endeavor.
