News reaching gharticles from Kasoa indicates that another bullion van was attacked by some armed robbers yesterday.
The quick response from the Winneba Police Command prevented the armed robbers from carrying out their operations.
According to reports, the armed robbers, whose names are still unknown, targeted a vehicle on the Winneba-Kasoa route from Accra.
The unidentified armed men fired the front passenger seat, smashing the glass in the process, where a police escort was seated.
The police officer who is also unknown quickly asked the driver of the bullion van to speed up upon the attack and immediately called for reinforcement.
The Winneba Patrol squad deployed at Mpata Junction raced to the scene and engaged the thieves in a gunfight, ultimately defeating them.
Fortunately, none of the occupants in the bullion van was hurt in any way and none of the money or properties in the van was stolen.
