Three Arrested for Gold Robbery at Wassa Afransie

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to a gold robbery at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region.

The suspects, Felix Adjei (alias Africa or Nana Adjei), Emmanuel Kelvin (a Nigerian), and Kofi Appiah (alias Kesse), allegedly robbed employees of Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited of gold worth GHS 199,000 and other valuables.

The robbery took place on April 4, 2025, when Kofi Appiah, a company driver, and another employee were ambushed by armed men after collecting gold from a client. The robbers fled with 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Toyota Corolla, later abandoned nearby.

Following investigations, Appiah was arrested on April 21 at Wassa Akropong, leading to the capture of his accomplices. Police recovered weapons, ammunition, and GHS 65,000 in cash believed to be part of the stolen proceeds.

The suspects are in custody and assisting with investigations, with police promising to ensure they face justice.
