Odumase Explosion: Ashanti Regional Minister Donates GHC5,000 to Each Affected Household

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has donated GHC5,000 to each affected household in Odumase, near Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality, following a devastating explosion that claimed three lives and left several others injured.

The explosion occurred in a shop selling dynamites and other explosives used by local miners, triggering a powerful blast that destroyed buildings and injured multiple people. Authorities have confirmed that three people have died so far, while several injured victims, including firefighters, have been treated and discharged. Five victims remain on admission, with two in critical condition and possibly needing referral to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for advanced treatment.

During his visit on March 6, 2025, Dr. Amoakohene assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that those responsible for the unauthorized sale of explosives will be arrested and prosecuted. Authorities continue to assess the damage and provide support to affected families.
