Kwabena Baidoo, a former player for Sekondi Hasaacas FC, has tragically died in a motor accident while celebrating the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) victory in Ghana’s 2024 general elections.
The accident occurred on Monday, December 9, in the Ellembelle District, cutting short the jubilations of Baidoo, who was reportedly reveling in the electoral success of the NDC.
Baidoo’s brother, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow over the loss, which he described as a significant tragedy for the family.
As of now, Sekondi Hasaacas FC has not issued an official statement regarding the untimely demise of their former player.
The NDC’s victory has been a cause for widespread celebration across Ghana, following New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s concession of defeat to John Dramani Mahama. Mahama won the election with 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes, while Bawumia secured 4,657,304 votes, equivalent to 41.61%.
