2024 Election: Cynthia Morrison to Contest as Independent Candidate Despite Rumors

Cynthia Morrison, the Member of Parliament for Agona West, will still contest the upcoming 2024 election as an independent candidate, contrary to circulating rumors suggesting otherwise. Reports claimed that Morrison, a former Gender Minister and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had reconsidered her decision after Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin declared her seat and three others vacant.

However, a statement issued by her office firmly debunked these rumors, stating that Morrison remains committed to her independent bid and continues to serve her constituents. The statement emphasized that the MP has not retracted her decision and urged the public to disregard false reports.

Morrison’s office further encouraged the media and the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information as the election approaches.
