President Akufo-addo Extends Auditor-General’s Tenure

Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu will remain in his role for an additional two years, following an extension of his contract by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mr. Asiedu was originally set to retire on August 1, 2024.

A memo from the Audit Service, dated June 19, announced the extension and offered congratulations to Mr. Asiedu.

“I wish to inform all staff that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana has extended the term of office of the Auditor-General, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, for another two years,” the memo stated.

“The Service congratulates our Auditor-General on his extended appointment. Thank you,” the memo concluded.
