The 2023/24 MTN FA Cup finals are set to take place at the newly constructed Legon Sports Stadium in Accra, according to an announcement by Wilson Arthur, the committee chairman.
In an exclusive interview with Akoma FM, Mr. Arthur explained the decision-making process behind selecting the venue. He noted that while the original plan was to hold the semi-finals and finals at the Tarkwa TNA Stadium and Legon Stadium, respectively, the TNA stadium was not ready. After considering Samarboi as an alternative, they ultimately decided on Sogakope for the semi-finals.
Despite this year’s finals being held at the Legon Stadium, Mr. Arthur expressed a desire to host future semi-finals and finals at the same venue, pending approval from the exco.
The Legon Sports Stadium, which recently hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 African Games, has become a prominent venue for sports events, including track and field and football matches.
