President Akufo-Addo Congratulates Senegal’s President-Elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye

 

In a gesture of goodwill and diplomatic solidarity, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana has extended his warmest congratulations to Senegal’s President-Elect, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, following the latter’s resounding victory in the presidential election held on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

President Akufo-Addo praised President-Elect Faye’s victory as well-deserved, highlighting the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Senegal. The Ghanaian leader expressed optimism that under President-Elect Faye’s leadership, Senegal would continue on its path of progress and prosperity, further solidifying its position as a beacon of democracy and stability in Africa.

The message also commended outgoing President Macky Sall for his contributions to Africa’s development and for overseeing a peaceful, credible, and transparent electoral process in Senegal. President Akufo-Addo lauded President Sall’s commitment to upholding democratic principles, noting that Senegal, West Africa, and the entire continent are grateful for his efforts.
