Parliament’s Speaker, Alban Bagbin, Donates Public Address System to Alma Mater, WASEC

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has generously gifted his former school, Wa Senior High School (WASEC), with a public address system and its accompanying accessories. The valuable package, estimated at GH₵120,000, was presented to the school by Bukari Augustine Mumuni, the Official Photographer of the Right Honourable Speaker.

The handover of the equipment included line arrays, speakers, power sequence, drive rack, microphones, and a mixer as part of the sound system’s components.

Adams Iddrisu Thirdman, the Headmaster of WASEC, expressed deep gratitude to Speaker Bagbin, emphasizing that he has fulfilled his commitment to his alma mater. He recalled that during the Speaker’s visit to WASEC on June 30, 2023, where he inspected an ongoing auditorium project, he learned about the school’s malfunctioning public address system. In response, Speaker Bagbin pledged to provide assistance with a sound system, which he has now delivered.

Mr. Thirdman assured that the school would take diligent care of the donated items and encouraged others to follow this benevolent example. He also pointed out that WASEC faces challenges related to the need for additional dormitories for students and classroom blocks to accommodate the increasing student population.
