Woman, 32, Electrocuted at Fetteh Kakraba

A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Fetteh Kakraba, Central Region, where a 32-year-old woman, identified as Appiawaa, was electrocuted following a power disconnection by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

According to local residents, ECG staff disconnected Appiawaa’s power but left the cable leading from the pole to the meter hanging loosely. Upon returning home, Appiawaa attempted to reposition the cable to prevent any accidents, but was electrocuted in the process. Witnesses rushed her to St. Gregory Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

An eyewitness, Sister Esi, expressed frustration and warned that residents may retaliate against any ECG staff attempting future disconnections or inspections in the area.
