Speaking at the 67th Independence parade in Koforidua, the President emphasized the need for tolerance of opposing views as a crucial element of democracy.

He acknowledged Ghana’s progress in democratic practices, especially in conducting elections, but highlighted the ongoing need for improvement. Despite the challenges, President Akufo-Addo praised the country’s stability and expressed confidence in its ability to continue advancing democracy.
