In a heart-wrenching incident at Abirem Newtown, located in the Ashanti Region, a washing bay attendant in his thirties met a fatal end while carrying out his duties. The victim, known only as Nuhu, sadly succumbed to his injuries after becoming trapped under a truck’s head during the cleaning process.
This grievous occurrence transpired when Nuhu was tasked with the responsibility of cleaning a truck at the Alhaji Washing Bay situated in Abirem Newtown, which falls within the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region.
As Nuhu diligently worked on washing the engine compartment of the truck, an unforeseen and tragic mishap unfolded as the truck’s head unexpectedly descended, leaving him pinned beneath its weight.
It took the combined efforts of Nuhu’s coworkers, bystanders, and a professional team from a towing company several hours to extricate him from the perilous situation. Once freed, a group of police officers arrived at the scene and swiftly transported Nuhu to the hospital.
The Kenyasi District Police Command has initiated an investigation into the matter, and they have summoned both the vehicle’s driver and the proprietor of the washing bay to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
