Two people are in critical condition after unknown gunmen opened fire on a commercial bus travelling from Bolgatanga to Kumasi near Walewale on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express with registration number GY 3199-21, came under attack close to the Walewale township. Preliminary information suggests the incident may be linked to prevailing security tensions in the area.
The driver and one passenger sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Walewale Hospital, where they are receiving emergency medical care.
