University of Ghana Stadium Chosen as Venue for WAFU U-17 Tournament

 

The University of Ghana Sports Stadium has been selected as the venue for the upcoming 2024 WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament, scheduled to take place in Accra from May 15 to May 29, 2024.

This tournament serves as the qualifying competition for the 2024 TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

In Group A, Ghana’s Black Starlets will compete against Cote D’Ivoire and Benin, while Group B comprises Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo.

To prepare for their matches, the teams will utilize training pitches such as the Athletics Oval field, the Mensah Sarbah field, and The Union Ghana Soccer field, all situated at the University of Ghana.

The University of Ghana Stadium, which was recently inaugurated on March 2, 2024, previously hosted two matches of the Africa Games Men’s Football tournament held in Accra two months ago.
