UDS Pharmacy Student Stabbed to Death on Campus

Mohammed Zakiu Wunpini, a pharmacy student at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Dungu, has tragically lost his life after being stabbed multiple times. Zakiu, who was about to begin his third year, was found dead on the evening of September 25, 2024, in an uncompleted building between the Citadel Hostel and Kumbung Hostel on the UDS campus.

Reports indicate that Zakiu’s motorcycle and phone were missing, raising suspicions that he may have been attacked and robbed. It was confirmed that he had gone out to watch a football match with a friend but never returned.

Following the incident, UDS authorities, including the Vice Dean, Dean of Students, and the head of Security, convened an emergency meeting and later visited the regional police office to get updates on the investigation.

The university community has been left in shock and mourning as they await further information about the tragic event. Zakiu’s final funeral rites are scheduled for today, September 30, 2024, at Gumani near the Oasis Restaurant.
