Lecturers at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Medical Sciences have embarked on an indefinite strike over prolonged delays in their promotions and career progression.
Despite meeting all academic and professional requirements, the lecturers claim they have struggled with persistent delays in the promotion process, leading to frustration among faculty members. Some have even considered leaving the university due to the lack of clear advancement opportunities.
The striking lecturers are calling on the university’s management and relevant authorities to urgently address the issue.
As of now, the UCC administration has not issued an official response to the strike.
