The Adabraka District Court has remanded social media women’s rights advocate and TikToker, Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, into police custody as investigations expand to include allegations of sextortion.
The suspect was arraigned on Friday, January 16, 2026, before the court presided over by Her Worship Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo. He was remanded to assist police with ongoing investigations and is expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, January 21, 2026.
Prosecutors told the court that investigations into an earlier assault incident involving Ekow Black, which went viral on social media and sparked widespread public outrage, are still ongoing.
In addition to the assault case, the prosecution revealed that fresh complaints have surfaced, with alleged victims accusing the suspect of threatening to circulate their intimate images. Investigators say the reported conduct is consistent with offences linked to sextortion, leading to an expansion of the scope of the police inquiry.
The court granted the prosecution’s request for remand to give investigators adequate time to conclude investigations into both the viral assault incident and the newly reported sextortion allegations.
Police say the matter remains under active investigation.
