The Sakumono District Police Command in Accra has arrested three men in connection with a shooting incident at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono on Saturday, 18th October 2025.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Mohammed (48), Eric Asare (28), and Felix Darko (23), were apprehended for allegedly storming a construction site at the Golf Club premises, posing as National Security operatives. According to a police statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the men unlawfully discharged firearms and caused significant damage to sections of the property.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the attack was linked to an ongoing land dispute involving parties within the Nungua Traditional Council. The suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned individuals and groups to refrain from engaging in unlawful acts, particularly those related to land disputes. It further assured the public that anyone found guilty would face the full consequences of the law.
Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and order while ensuring that justice is served in accordance with due process.
