SSA-UoG, TUAAG And FUSSAG Declare Indefinite Strike Over Government’s Failure To Honor 6-Month-Old Agreement

Senior staff members of public universities across Ghana have declared an indefinite strike effective Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in response to the government’s failure to honour a signed agreement reached six months ago.

The strike was jointly announced by the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), the Technical University Administrators Association of Ghana (TUAAG), and the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG).

Addressing the media in Accra, SSA-UoG National Chairman George Ansong expressed deep disappointment, stating that despite numerous engagements and goodwill efforts, the government has persistently failed to act on its commitments.

He described the government’s actions as neglectful and damaging to the trust needed for effective collaboration. The associations emphasized that the strike will continue until their concerns are fully addressed.
