SpaceX’s Starlink Satellite Broadband service, operated by Space X Starlink GH LTD, has been granted permission by Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) to provide satellite broadband services in the country.
This decision, announced in an official statement by the NCA on April 25, marks a significant milestone following the approval of Ghana’s Satellite Licensing Framework by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization.
The regulatory body is currently in the process of finalizing the administrative procedures for issuing the license.
Established under Act 524 in December 1996 (repealed and replaced by the National Communications Authority Act, 2008, Act 769), the National Communications Authority (NCA) is responsible for licensing and regulating electronic communication activities and services in Ghana.
