The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, says it’s in the best interest of the Ghana FA to aid clubs with the stimulus package to come from FIFA during this Covid-19 pandemic.

The GFA is expecting $500,000 as financial stimulus package from FIFA due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to the Spokesperson for the GFA, Henry Asante Twum the money from FIFA is meant for operational cost and not to be shared among the clubs.

The Covid-19 pandemic has plunged a lot of clubs into financial crisis and there has been calls for the GFA to support the clubs with some part of the FIFA money.

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has come to the defense of the clubs with a plea that the GFA should consider the clubs during the pandemic.

“The first thing the GFA must think of is the Human resource because without the players and teams there will be no FA. The FA cannot operate in a vaccum, it operates because there are teams. So their first priority is to look at the footballers and the administrators for them to survive before football can survive.

“If you have that money and teams to ensure that the games must go on are not there then it means there can’t be an FA too”, he added.
