School Feeding Programme Saga: Mrs Gertrude Quashigah Resigns Days After She Was Allegedly ‘Sacked’

There has been a twist to the sacking of Mrs Mrs Gertrude Quashigah as the National Coordinator of Ghana’s School Feeding Programme.

About two days ago, it was reported that Mrs Gertrude Quashigah was relieved of his position as the National Coordinator of Ghana’s School Feeding Programme.

In an earlier letter signed by the Gender and Social Protection Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 and addressed to Mrs Quashigah.

“This is to inform you of the termination of your appointment as the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding programme. You will be paid one month’s salary in lieu of notice as stipulated in your contract agreement”, the letter stated.

It further directed Mrs Quashigah to hand over to the Chief Director of the Gender Ministry.

No reason was however assigned for her removal.

However, Ghanaarticles.com have sighted on a new letter signed by the Gender and Social Protection Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo, dated on 20th May, 2021.

Mrs Quashigah stated in the letter that the “earlier letter was as a result of administrative error”.

Which means that she was not sacked as reported earlier but she resigned as the National Coordinator of Ghana’s School Feeding Programme.

Mrs Gertrude Quashigah, was officially named national coordinator of the programme in March 2020.

She was already serving as an acting coordinator for about a year before she was given the role officially.
