Samira Bawumia, Founder and Chair of the Africa Women and Children Conference (AFRIWOCC) and a global advocate for sustainable energy, will open the 2025 SEforALL Global Forum in Barbados.
The forum aims to drive investments, policies, and partnerships toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7)—universal access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy by 2030.
Under the theme “Sustainable Energy for Equity, Security, and Prosperity,” the event will focus on expanding energy access, meeting climate goals, and supporting vulnerable communities.
Mrs. Bawumia will emphasize clean cooking solutions in the global energy transition and advocate for integrating mini-grids with clean cooking initiatives to reduce dependence on traditional fuels.
A well-known advocate for clean energy, she was honored at the Seven for 7 Awards by SEforALL and Ashden in 2019 and serves as a Global Ambassador for the Clean Cooking Alliance and a Global Champion for the Clean Air Fund and WHO’s Health and Energy Platform for Action.
