In a recent exclusive interview on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall Show, award-winning Ghanaian Highlife musician Kwaisey Pee, also known as Kwasi Poku Addai, expressed deep concern about the escalating number of road accidents in Ghana. The artist pointed to the illegal acquisition of driving licenses as a major contributing factor to this issue.
During the interview, the ‘Mehia Odo’ hitmaker emphasized the need for a stricter licensing process, stating that tightening the regulations could significantly reduce the prevalence of accidents on the country’s roads. Kwaisey Pee drew a comparison between road accidents in Ghana and those abroad, highlighting the severity of incidents in Ghana.
In his words, he remarked, “It’s hard for you to hear about road accidents abroad. Road accidents abroad are minor compared to those in Ghana. If I were the DVLA boss, no one would easily get a license. If I am able to curb that alone, I think it would curb lots of accidents.”
The artist’s perspective underscores the urgency for regulatory measures to address the illegal acquisition of driving licenses, with the aim of improving road safety in Ghana.
