The Management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has strongly condemned comments attributed to lawyer and media personality Serwaa Amihere, in which she reportedly described the school as a “breeding ground for homosexuals.”

In a statement dated January 17, 2026, PRESEC described the remarks as false, reckless and deeply offensive, noting that they amounted to an irresponsible generalisation that unfairly maligned students and undermined the integrity and reputation of the institution.

Management said the comments sought to stigmatise the school, which has a long-standing legacy of discipline, academic excellence and moral formation.

According to the statement, PRESEC is a Presbyterian mission institution founded on Christian values and governed by the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the laws of the Republic. For over eight decades, the school has focused on academic excellence, character development, leadership training, discipline and the moral upbringing of students.

The school stressed that any assertion suggesting otherwise is a gross misrepresentation of its identity, values and mission.

Management also highlighted PRESEC’s achievements, including its repeated successes at the National Science and Maths Quiz, and its contributions to national development through the training of students who have excelled in academia, public service, science, business, faith and civic leadership.

The statement further noted that comments of such nature are not only inaccurate but harmful, as they unfairly label students and expose them to ridicule, prejudice and emotional harm, while attempting to erode the school’s reputation.

PRESEC made it clear that it will not accept or normalise what it described as defamatory characterisations.

Management expressed gratitude to parents, alumni, students and the general public for their continued trust and support, and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to upholding its values, protecting the dignity of its students and maintaining high standards of excellence and character formation.
