A Yutong bus transporting 1,800 rounds of ammunition was intercepted by the Bawku Divisional Police Command at the Customs barrier in Binguri, Binduri District, Upper East Region, on November 28, 2024.
The bus, registered as GW 6471-22 and en route from Kumasi to Bawku, was stopped based on a tip-off. The driver, whose name remains undisclosed, has been detained by the police for investigations, and the vehicle is being held at the Bawku Divisional Police Command.
A source confirmed that the ammunition is in police custody, though no timeline has been provided for the driver’s court appearance. Efforts to contact Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Adamu Seidu for further details have been unsuccessful.
