The Bono Regional Police Command has interdicted several officers captured in a viral video allegedly accepting money from motorists while on duty.
The decision follows the circulation of a social media video showing the officers engaging in what appears to be acts of bribery during traffic operations.
In a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Bono Region, the Command confirmed that the officers involved have been identified and placed under interdiction to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the Ghana Police Service.
It also assured the public that any officers found culpable after the investigation would face strict disciplinary and legal action.
“The Command assures the public of its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability among its personnel,” the statement added.
