The Volta Regional Police Command has destroyed 600 sacks of Indian hemp weighing 47,530 kilogrammes and valued at approximately GH¢4.2 billion. The destruction followed a court order granted after the conclusion of a criminal trial involving suspects arrested in 2022.

The exercise was carried out on Monday, November 17, at about 2:30 p.m., involving exhibits from the case of The Republic vs. Yao Kwadwo, also known as Wallako, and two others. The Ho Circuit Court authorised the destruction after the exhibits had been tendered in evidence during proceedings.
