The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested suspect Prince Agyapong for leading a violent robbery attack on the Juaso District Forestry Services on Monday, December 1, 2025.
According to preliminary investigations, about 30 armed men, wielding knives and other offensive weapons, stormed the Forestry office while the Forestry Rapid Response Team was out on monitoring duties. The gang, allegedly led by Agyapong, ordered workers to surrender their mobile phones before ransacking several offices.
The suspects reportedly made away with two chainsaw machines, one tricycle, two KIA trucks, and GH¢9,000 belonging to a staff member.
Police launched an immediate pursuit, resulting in the arrest of the ringleader. The two stolen KIA trucks were successfully retrieved and transported to the Juaso District Police Headquarters. The remaining accomplices, however, managed to flee the scene.
Prince Agyapong was arraigned before the Agogo District Court on a provisional charge of robbery and was remanded into police custody. He is expected to reappear on December 15, 2025.
Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects and recover all stolen items.
