The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested five suspects believed to be behind a series of robbery incidents in and around Sefwi Bekwai. The arrests follow weeks of surveillance, investigations, and intelligence-led operations.

Western North Regional Police Commander DCOP Dr. Francis Tsidi said the operation reflects the Police Service’s renewed commitment to fighting crime and ensuring public safety in the region.
The suspects were arrested during a patrol in Sefwi Wiawso and nearby communities on December 3, 2025. Police say the group was riding an unregistered motorcycle and refused to stop when ordered, leading to a chase and their subsequent arrest. Interrogation of three suspects later aided in locating and arresting two others.

A search of their residence uncovered various items, including talismans and face masks believed to be linked to their criminal activities.
All five suspects are in police custody and have been remanded for two weeks as investigations continue. The Police caution that anyone engaged in crime will be tracked down and prosecuted.
