Ghanaian actress and socialite Efia Odo has waded into the ongoing conversation surrounding cosmetic surgery, urging women to focus on inner healing and self-validation through Christ rather than turning to body enhancement procedures.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on April 14, 2025, Efia Odo wrote, “Plastic surgery doesn’t fix insecurities. You must be self-validated within. Nothing outside of you can save you apart from being in Christ, because that’s your true self. Christ is not a religion; it’s one’s true self.”
Her statement aligns with sentiments shared by fellow actress Yvonne Nelson, who recently criticized plastic surgery, attributing the trend to a lack of self-confidence and psychological struggles. “I feel that it is a mental thing. It is a lack of confidence,” Nelson stated in a previous interview.
Efia Odo further cautioned young girls against the addictive nature of body modifications. Drawing attention to the psychological toll, she warned that once someone alters one part of their body, the desire to continue modifying becomes difficult to resist. “The minute you do that, it never stops… You would always want to change something about you,” she added.
