One dead, several injured in head-on collision at Ejisu

One person has died while several others sustained critical injuries following a head-on collision involving two commercial vehicles at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

The accident involved a Ford vehicle with registration number AW 3264-21 and a Toyota Hiace with registration number AS 3552-20.

According to eyewitness accounts, the Toyota Hiace, which was travelling towards Kumasi, allegedly lost control while speeding and collided head-on with the Ford vehicle that was heading from Kumasi towards Ejisu.

The force of the impact caused severe injuries to occupants of both vehicles. Among those injured were two senior high school students who were reportedly on their way to school at the time of the accident.

All injured passengers were rushed to the Living Waters Hospital for medical attention. One victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

An eyewitness, Michael Asante, described the scene as devastating, stating that many passengers suffered broken hands and legs, while the seats inside the vehicles were badly damaged due to the impact.
