Occupy Julorbi House Protest: Bridget Otoo has Been Arrested

Ghanaian journalist Bridget Otoo experienced a troubling incident during the “Occupy Julorbi House” protest on September 21, 2023, as it was abruptly halted by the Police. In defiance of a court-issued injunction, the protest, organized by the Democracy Hub, went ahead, leading to the arrest of numerous demonstrators.

  • These arrested individuals were subsequently transported to various police stations across the city, where media access to them was severely restricted.

Amid this situation, a distressing video circulated online, showing Bridget Otoo, along with other media representatives, protesting the arrests outside the Police Headquarters. She was forcibly handled and pulled into the Police Station, with the gate then being locked.
