
Mfantsipim School has reaffirmed its dominance in the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after outclassing long-time rivals Prempeh College and Adisadel College in a thrilling quarter-final contest at the SGS Auditorium, University of Cape Coast.
Dubbed a “battle of giants,” the contest drew massive attention as supporters cheered, gasped, and celebrated every moment of brilliance from the three prestigious schools.
Mfantsipim started on a strong note, leading Round One with 25 points, followed by Prempeh College with 20, while Adisadel trailed with 15. The defending champions continued their impressive run in Round Two, extending their lead to 41 points. Prempeh managed 22, and Adisadel stayed at 15.
Round Three, the Problem of the Day, brought a brief shift in momentum. Adisadel impressed with 6 out of 10 points, outperforming both Mfantsipim and Prempeh, who scored 4 and 2 respectively. However, Mfantsipim’s early dominance ensured they stayed ahead.
By Round Four, Mfantsipim surged further to 61 points, while Prempeh followed with 40 and Adisadel improved slightly to 31.
In the riddle-filled final round, both Prempeh and Adisadel fought valiantly to close the gap, but Mfantsipim maintained control until the end. The contest concluded with Mfantsipim sealing victory at 64 points, while Prempeh College and Adisadel College tied at 40 points each.
With this commanding win, Mfantsipim advances to the semi-finals of NSMQ 2025, keeping alive their quest to defend their championship title and strengthen their legacy as one of the competition’s most formidable contenders.
