Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued an unreserved apology to Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana and President of the UG chapter of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
The apology follows recent allegations by Mr. Mustapha, who accused Prof. Gyampo of collaborating with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prevent students from voting by utilizing UTAG’s anti-galamsey strike as a cover. He further claimed that Prof. Gyampo’s actions were influenced by a promised position in a prospective NDC administration.
In his statement, Mustapha acknowledged that he lacked evidence to substantiate these claims and is issuing the retraction based on demands from Prof. Gyampo’s legal team. He noted that failure to comply with these demands could result in legal repercussions.
