NPP Unveils Voting Centers for Presidential Primaries

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed the designated voting locations for its upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for November 4, 2023.

These primaries will determine the party’s candidate for the 2024 general elections and will take place in constituencies across all 16 regions of the country.

The contenders vying for the nomination include Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, former Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, former Member of Parliament for Mampong.

Delegates from the Central Region will cast their votes at Cape Coast’s Robert Mensah Stadium. In the Greater Accra Region, the voting center will be at the YMCA, while delegates from the Volta Region will gather at Mawuli Senior High School to exercise their voting rights.

The St. Louis College of Education has been designated as the voting location for delegates from the Ashanti Region. In the Eastern Region, delegates will converge at SEC/TEC SCH in Koforidua, located within the Juaben constituency.

The John Bitar Club House in Dwinasen 1, part of the North Sefwi Wiawso constituency, will serve as the voting center for delegates from the Western Region.

During the NPP’s national election committee’s balloting event held on September 13, 2023, Kennedy Agyapong secured the first slot, followed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the second slot. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto drew the third slot, while former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai Nimo, picked the fourth slot.
